Soccer stars attend soccer centre open day

06 Feb 07

The new, state-of-the-art, Lakeside Soccer Centre, based at the Keepmoat Stadium, held an open-day on Sunday that drew over a hundred families and stars from Doncaster Rovers FC.

Players joined children of all ages for an impromptu coaching session and a number of games that allowed players to gain first-hand experience of the new surface.

Lakeside Soccer Centre, Manager, Phil Henson, said:

“It was great to have so many people along for the open day and get a chance to have a game with some of the Rovers players.

“The facilities we have are truly state of the art with all the pitches using the very latest synthetic 3G materials that simulate the playing qualities of natural grass, allowing players to even wear moulded studs or blades.

“We’ll shortly be announcing plans for league structures at the centre but the pitches are available right now, be it for one-off games or block bookings of 12-weeks.”

Full changing facilities are provided in the North West corner of the Keepmoat Stadium, providing secure storage space for all players. In addition to the eight, floodlit 5-a-side pitches, the Lakeside Soccer Centre also offers three, floodlit 7-a-side pitches that can be converted into a full-size synthetic pitch and a 1/3 sized grass pitch.

For further information or for bookings please call the Lakeside Soccer Centre on 01302 762562.
