| Countdown to Sports Complex opening |

Excitement is building at the Sports Complex at Lakeside as the final touches are being made in preparation for the sneak preview event on 17 December.
With just under a week to go, work is being completed on the £32 million facility which is set to welcome thousands of visitors at its special celebration event.
As huge numbers of people are expected to attend on the day visitors are encouraged to use all forms of transport to avoid queuing and parking difficulties. In order to make journeys as quick and hassle free as possible there will be shuttle buses running from the Frenchgate Interchange every 10 minutes along the number 72 and 75 route between 11am and 6pm. There is also a free park and walk facility from Belle Vue.
The event is open between 1pm and 4pm and while tickets are not required visitors are encouraged to plan their visit to avoid early crowds and the need to queue. Those planning on arriving early should be prepared to wait outside and be equipped for all weathers.
Mayor Martin Winter said, "The delivery of the all new sports complex is a massive achievement for the people of Doncaster so please take this opportunity to be part of celebrations that will go down in Doncaster's history."
