Players from Evening Meals FC celebrated this weekend after they were crowned the Keepmoat Stadium’s first Champions of the Lakeside Soccer Centre 6-a-side Monday-night League.
The team were invited along to Sunday’s game between Doncaster Rovers FC and Huddersfield Town FC to receive the trophy from Andy Clarke, Keepmoat Stadium Sports and Soccer Manager and Mickey Walker, Doncaster Rovers Director of Football.
Speaking at the presentation, Andy Clarke, Manager of the Lakeside Soccer Centre, Keepmoat Stadium said:
“It was great that the lads could collect their trophy before the game and also see the Rovers pick-up all three points. They fully deserved to secure the league title and proved this by winning it by five points in the end.
“Since we first announced the leagues they have proved really popular and been a huge success. Very soon our winter season will get underway and already more teams have registered for both the Monday and Wednesday night leagues but there is still time for anyone thinking they can better Evening Meals FC to call the soccer centre and get signed-up.”
