ENGLAND U19 v TURKEY U19
A NATIONWIDE U19 FRIENDLY INTERNATIONAL

Keepmoat Stadium, Doncaster

Doncaster's Keepmoat Stadium will host its first England international next month.

A selection of England's most promising young players will be on show at the new stadium when the England U19 side take on Turkey on Wednesday 21 March.

A sizeable crowd is expected to see the England youngsters in action with advance tickets priced just £3 for adults and £1 for children and OAPs.

The match will provide England with a strong test before the team takes part in the final qualifying competition for the 2007 UEFA European U19 Championship. England will face Russia, Czech Republic and Holland in England during May with the group winner reaching this summer's Championship in Austria.

The U19s most recent match saw them record an impressive 4-1 victory over Poland in front of a packed house of more than 10,000 in Bournemouth.

England U19 Coach Brian Eastick said: "We're really looking forward to playing at Doncaster's Keepmoat Stadium in what will be our final preparation match before the European Championship Qualifiers.

"From my perspective Turkey could be the strongest opposition we have faced so far this season, perhaps along with Spain, and this is just the calibre of opponents that we will have to overcome if we are to qualify for Austria.

"It's a chance for us to look at the players one last time before the competitive games begin, so from that sense it is very important to us and we will be looking to get as much out of the game as we can.

"We have had great support of late, particular in the sell-out at Bournemouth, and hopefully the Doncaster public will come out in force to support us."

Several players who have already made an impression at first team level in the Premier League and Championship feature in the England U19 side including Everton striker James Vaughan, Derby County's Giles Barnes, Middlesbrough defender Seb Hines and midfielder Fabrice Muamba who is on loan at Birmingham City from Arsenal.

Tickets are on sale from March 1st 2007, Ticket Hotline on 08717 899 998 priced £3 adults (£5 on matchday), £1 children and OAPs. Details of group bookings can be found on TheFA.com

Jeremy Milnes, Commercial Director, Keepmoat Stadium said:

“To secure a match of this nature so soon after opening our doors for the first time is a real coup not just for the stadium but for the town. Already all the staff here, and the facility itself, have earned a great reputation within the football community and the FA’s decision to hold this international here is proof of that.

“I’m sure we’ll get a good crowd for what will hopefully be an exciting match and people will take advantage of the chance to see some of this country’s most promising football talents. Over the years many players that have featured at this level have gone on to great things, such as Wayne Rooney, and some of this current team are already playing regularly in the Premiership which can only bode well for their futures.”

Ends.
