Today (Thursday, 24th May 2007) the Stadium Management Company attended, along with other creditors, a Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA) meeting in relation to Doncaster Lakers Rugby League Club.
Andy Nicholl, Chief Executive of the Stadium Management Company said:
“From the outset we have worked tremendously hard behind the scenes to assist the Lakers wherever possible and have continued that today, by working to provide a solution that gives the club the best chance possible to fulfill this seasons fixtures.
“The restructured agreement supports the new business plan but guarantees that the people of Doncaster or any other club who use the Keepmoat Stadium will not lose out. From the outset the agreements in place with the Lakers have been more than favorable and importantly, contained absolutely no hidden costs. Today’s developments do not change the detail of these but support the Lakers efforts to reach the end of the season and beyond.
“We have a responsibility, which we hold above all else, to all the clubs who call the Keepmoat home and the people of Doncaster who make great use of all the facilities. The Keepmoat Stadium and Lakeside Sports Complex was created from public money and it is right that we do not compromise community sports and other organisations by subsidising a private team.” |
