THE success of Doncaster's new community stadium has come to the attention of the House of Commons.
Barnsley East and Mexborough MP Jeff Ennis has congratulated support services and construction company Carillion for building the 15,000-seat Keepmoat Stadium on time and under budget.
In an early day motion, he said: "This House congratulates Doncaster Council, Mayor Martin Winter, the Stadium Management Company and the main contractors Carillion on completing the magnificent new Keepmoat Stadium on schedule and under budget."
Peter Clay, managing director of Carillion Regional Civil Engineering said: "Carillion is delighted that its work has been recognised at such a high level.
"This project is an excellent example of the integrated solutions that Carillion can provide to our customers.
"Working with both our civil engineering and regional building businesses, we were able to provide a solution that was both cost-effective and pioneering for our clients and the local community."
